Imagine waking up to an amazing view of Lake Batur and the mountain. Sounds pretty great, right?
You might come across Igloo Glamping Bali when you are looking for a place to stay for a staycation in Kintamani. To be honest, my experience there was just okay—not bad, but not amazing either. While it’s a peaceful spot to relax, I highly recommend checking out recent reviews on Google before you book. That way, you can get a better idea of what to expect for your own trip.
Living in a fast-paced city can be stressful. So, two weeks ago, I went with five of my friends: Wistika, Mikhael, Wati, Krisna, and Dian, to refresh our minds. It was a two-hour drive from our place. It was raining for about 45 minutes, but luckily it stopped, and we continued our trip by motorbike.
Arriving in Kintamani
The cold air greeted us as soon as we reached Kintamani. It was around 6 PM when we arrived at Igloo Glamping. We went straight to the front desk, which was actually the kitchen, to check in. Since we had already paid a down payment, we just had to pay the rest of the balance. The place was incredibly calming, and we could see the lake and the mountain right away.

When night came, it got really cold. If you visit, don’t forget to bring a jacket! The long trip made us hungry, so we ordered some food for dinner. The prices were quite reasonable. One important thing to note is that this accommodation doesn’t have Wi-Fi yet, so make sure to top up your data plan.
After dinner, we sat around a campfire. You can buy firewood for IDR 25.000, which lasts about an hour for us. We talked for hours before heading to bed. The bed itself was big enough for three people and quite comfortable. There were also power outlets to charge our phones, which was a bonus.
Waking Up to the View
I woke up at 6 AM, and it was still cold even with the blanket. I grabbed my camera and went outside. The fog was pretty thick, but Mikhael and I went for a walk anyway, taking some pictures.

By 8 AM, the fog had slowly started to vanish. Everyone was awake, sitting outside our tent, when a staff member came to take our breakfast order. The choices were pancake, nasi goreng, or mie kuah/goreng. We all decided to get nasi goreng (more calories, the better!). A strange thing to mention: breakfast doesn’t include a drink, so you have to pay extra for one. Luckily, I brought my own water, but it wasn’t enough to quench my thirst.
After we ate, we took turns showering. There were only two bathrooms, so we had to be patient. As the sunlight came out, the place got a little hot, so be sure to bring sunscreen! Before we checked out, we took some pictures together, and the results were amazing.
