Bamboopalooza 2025 at Green School Bali

Celebrating Unity and Diversity at Green School Bali’s Bamboopalooza 2025

You know I love an incredible journey, and my recent trip to Green School Bali for their annual Bamboopalooza 2025 event was exactly that!

If you haven’t heard of it, Green School is this incredible place, a wall-less, bamboo-built campus nestled in the Balinese jungle dedicated to fostering future changemakers. I was lucky to be there on my day off to see their community event on Friday, November 7, 2025.

What Makes Bamboopalooza So Special?

Bamboopalooza is a representation of the Green School philosophy, and it was so much more than a school event. Just imagine a great, joyful festival with a conscience. It was their annual community event, dedicated not just to fun but also to celebrating diversity in unity. The whole point was for every family to get involved by showcasing their culture through food, music, and hands-on activities.

With over 40 nationalities represented, Bamboopalooza embodied the Green School ethos: learning through community, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep sustainability. It was a literal microcosm of a positive, sustainable world, all wrapped up in one vibrant day.

The community of Green School

Imagine yourself standing on the main field, right next to the iconic, swirling bamboo structure called The Arc. The tropical sunlight streamed down onto the lush green, and you were surrounded by the sounds of a truly global community. With more than 40 nationalities represented, the energy was amazing. This event was where the school’s global family came together to share, celebrate, and show what a positive, sustainable world looks like, and it was so special to witness it firsthand.

Bamboopalooza Passport

Right upon entering, the fun started with a genius idea: the Bamboopalooza Passport! It was a mini-adventure booklet filled with “visa” pages from each country. To get the visa stamp, I had to visit the country’s dedicated stall and answer a trivia question about their culture or history.

If my answer was correct, I got the stamp and some samples of their traditional food! It turned the event into a joyful, interactive scavenger hunt focused on global learning.

I got some stamps!

Rhythms of the Jungle

As I walked around, I heard the incredible sound of music, cultural dances, and amazing acts performed by the students and the community.

Conscious and Fun Activities

Each country’s stall had its own unique, hands-on activity. My favorite was the Japanese stall, where I got to try my hand at calligraphy.

I made one of my own name (though I’ll be honest, it was kinda messy, haha!), but it was so fun learning the technique.

The Global Parade

The day ended in a colorful parade from each represented country. It was such a beautiful sight to see everyone in their national dress, celebrating together.

It was the most touching moment when the entire community gathered to sing “We Are The World” by USA for Africa while holding the peace sign.

Leaving Bamboopalooza, I felt energized by the belief that a positive, sustainable, and joyful future is truly possible. It was a beautiful, powerful reminder that our global community thrives on connection and shared purpose.
