For cafés, bars, restaurants, hotels and experiences
I write about Bali slowly: the cafés I keep going back to, the places worth the detour, and the people who make them what they are. If you run a café, bar, restaurant, hotel or experience in Bali and think it belongs in that kind of story, I’d love to hear from you.
At a glance
Instagram brings reach close to home, and the journal gives every collaboration a permanent, searchable story that travels further.

What we can do together
- A story on the journal. I visit, take my own photos, and write it up as a full story, the way I wrote about Tata Lagi and Decafo.
- Short videos. A short video of the visit for Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
- Press releases. Opening a new place, launching a menu or hosting an event? Send me your press release and I’ll share it on the journal. I can come by and take the photos myself, or use the photos your team sends over.
- Something else in mind? Tell me. If it feels right for the journal and its readers, we’ll find a way.
What a hosted visit includes
Hosted visits are an exposure-based exchange with no fees: an agreed visit, meal, tasting or stay, in exchange for editorial, social and photographic coverage. One visit gets you seen three ways:
- An article on the journal. A dedicated, story-led feature about your venue, food and drinks, facilities or stay, with my photos throughout, links to your website, booking page, menu or social media, and a title and headings written to be found on Google.
- Instagram coverage on @ferysjournal. One carousel of visual highlights, one Reel introducing the place, and five or more Story frames with real-time moments, tags and a call to action.
- 10 to 15 edited photos. Food and drinks, interiors, ambience, details, rooms and surroundings, delivered digitally in an agreed format and timeframe. This total includes the photos used in the article and on Instagram, unless we agree otherwise.
I shape the coverage around what makes your place worth visiting:
- Cafés: coffee, signature drinks, food and pastries, the setting, and the feel of working or meeting there.
- Restaurants: signature dishes, menu highlights, the dining experience, service and ambience.
- Bars: cocktails and drinks, food, atmosphere, design and the evening experience.
- Hotels and villas: rooms, the property and facilities, breakfast or dining, the location and the overall stay.
Press release features
Sharing an opening, a new menu, an event or a seasonal offer? Send me your press release, the key details and approved photos, and I’ll rewrite it as a story in the Guestbook section, with a quick info box, clear headings, photo credits and links to your menu or reservations. You can see how it looks in my LUSA Bistro Berawa feature.
- Press release features are labelled as such and aren’t presented as a first-hand visit.
- Publication depends on editorial fit and timing, so sending one doesn’t guarantee a feature.
- I may edit the copy for clarity, accuracy and the journal’s style.
- Please include accurate details, image credits, links and a contact person.
How I work
- I only write about places I’d honestly recommend to a friend.
- Every hosted visit or partnership is clearly disclosed in the story, and my opinions are always my own.
- For stories, I visit in person and take my own photos. Press releases are clearly labelled as press releases, and photos from your team are credited to you.
- I work in Bali’s food and beverage hospitality industry and started out in hotel PR, so I know how venues want to be presented.
A collaboration runs in four steps:
- Agree. We confirm the deliverables, the hosted experience, the date, the number of guests and what’s included. For stays, the length, room type and inclusions are confirmed in writing.
- Visit. I take photos, film Stories and make notes on the day.
- Review. You check the facts before anything goes live: names, opening hours, menu, prices and facilities.
- Publish. The story goes live within 7 to 14 working days of the visit, or as we agree.

Photos and how you can use them
- You can use the 10 to 15 edited, high-resolution photos on your own organic social media, credited to Fery’s Journal.
- They can’t be sold, passed on or licensed to third parties, or used for paid ads, campaigns or print without my written permission.
- The original photographs remain the property of Fery’s Journal.
Quick answers
- Is it paid? No. It’s an exposure-based exchange, agreed individually before we confirm.
- Can we review the article? You can check the facts before it’s published. My opinions stay independent.
- Are results guaranteed? No. A collaboration gives you exposure, not guaranteed bookings, sales or reach.
- Do you cover stays? Yes. The length of stay, room, inclusions, number of guests and scope are agreed in writing first.
